Busenaz Surmeneli

If you want to back a clear favorite to do well at these events, then go for Busenaz Surmeneli (+150). The Turkish world champion has become an absolute star at 69kg level and has won World and European championships at middleweight and welterweight level. She is a fantastic all-around boxing, a real pristine puncher, and a fantastic overall talent to watch.

Having come through her quarter-final already, she looks set to at least earn a medal. Seen as one of the key faces of Turkish boxing at the moment, Surmeneli has huge pressure to overcome but looks to be doing so with consummate ease.

Lauren Price

British boxing starlet Lauren Price (+110) is seen as the clear favorite at Middleweight level. Her next competitor, Qian Li (+300) has also reached the quarter-final stage. Price, though, looks to be among the best in her class at this level. She’s not been defeated in a meaningful match in a long time and looks every bit the assertive choice for winning a medal at the Olympics.

She has enjoyed competitive boxing for a long time now and looks absolutely fantastic in terms of her form and fitness coming into Tokyo. If you wish to back someone from the list who might do well, then back Dutch boxer Nouchka Fontjin (+350) who has the knack and conditioning to go far here.

Kariss Artingstall

British boxing is in a good place at the moment, and the women’s section at the Olympics is also carrying the torch for the UK. The hugely impressive Kariss Artingstall (+900) was by no means a favorite, but she has punched her way to the Semi-Finals of the Featherweight division. She looks pretty good odds to land a medal at least.

However, if she reaches the Final, she will need to face off against favorites in Irma Testa (+250) of Italy and Nesthy Petecio (+350) of the Philippines. Either boxer will provide stern opposition for the young Briton.

Stoya Krasteva

For a boxer to back, though, go to the Flyweight division and look to Stoyka Krasteva (+450). The Bulgarian dismissed US starlet Virginia Fuchs (+300) in the Round of Sixteen. Fuchs is a favorite with US boxing fans, as her gritty style and never-say-die attitude wins her many fans. However, she was thoroughly outclassed by the Bulgarian who now looks to be among the favorites to lift gold in this particular section.

Another name in this section to look out for is outright favorite Buse Naz Cakiroglu (+160). Cakrioglu came through a pulsating tie to win 3-2, defeating Uzbek Tursunoy Rakhimova. There are some excellent ties to come in the Olympics, but the above boxers look good bets to cover as we move into the business end of the Tokyo 2020 women’s boxing competitions
