The NBA Eastern Conference finals are tied at 2-2 as the Milwaukee Bucks and Atlanta Hawks face off at the Fiserv Arena for game 5.
Sportsbooks have consistently backed the Bucks to take this NBA playoff series, but betting odds are now shorter than ever after the Hawks won game 4 despite playing the entire game without Trae Young.
Milwaukee remains the bookmakers’ favorite to clinch the series, but with their superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo doubtful due to a hyperextended knee, the spread between these two teams has narrowed to just two points.
Atlanta have proven that they can win on Milwaukee’s home court, and that they can beat the Bucks even if they are missing Young.
The Bucks have the bigger names while the Hawks have the deeper roster. Which will make the difference in this NBA matchup?

Game 5 Milwaukee Bucks preview
The Bucks entered game 4 of this series with everything in their favor: they had a 2-1 series lead, homecourt advantage, a dominant Giannis Antetokounmpo and an opponent missing their best player due to injury.
How things can change in 48 minutes.
Atlanta claimed a 110-88 victory on Tuesday night while Milwaukee looked unmotivated and will now be losing sleep over the health of their main man Giannis.
The Bucks were already down with Giannis on the court. When he exited due to injury in the second half, they fell apart. The Greek Freak remains a major injury doubt for game 5 and the big question is: how will the Bucks respond to the loss of their big man?
A lot of the offensive load will now fall on Khris Middleton, who lit the series up in game 3 but shot just 35.3% and was 0-for-7 from three-point range during Tuesday night’s
loss. Middleton is known for being wildly inconsistent: now is the time for him to prove the doubters wrong.
Game 5 Atlanta Hawks preview
The Hawks seemed to have had their wings clipped after back-to-back series losses and Trae Young’s foot injury.
But Atlanta brought a full-team performance and shot the ball outstandingly in game 4, hitting 50.6% of their shots including 13 of 28 from downtown.
Bogan Bogdanovich showed a glimpse of his talent for the first time since his knee injury, hitting 6 of 14 three-pointers as he ended with 20 points, five assists, four steals and three rebounds.
Veteran Lou Williams served as a capable understudy for Young, going 7-for-9 for 21 points, while the Hawks could also lean on the defensive tenacity of Cam Reddish, who made his second appearance since February.
Big man Onyeka Okongwu has already shown that he can play when facing NBA royalty like Giannis Antetokounmpo. With Giannis out, the rookie will have some more room to maneuver down low.
If Young can make it back for game 5 and the Hawks continue to play as a unit, they can damage the Bucks.
Betting on game 5 Milwaukee Bucks v Atlanta Hawks
The Hawks have won game 5 in their two previous series, while the Bucks lost the single game 5 they have played so far.
Despite that, the sportsbooks have Milwaukee as -135 favorites on the moneyline to the Hawks’ +115, with the Bucks priced at a tempting -105 to cover the two-point spread. Betting on the Hawks against the spread will give you slightly tighter odds of -115.
The Over/Under is set at 215 for this game, with both teams priced at -110. The Under is 3-1 in this series so far, with only game 1 going over the total.
