Joe Joyce is coming off an explosive knockout win over Daniel Dubois, who looked unstoppable, taking down anyone in his path. Dubois had his eye busted and swollen badly right from the start, which impaired his vision and cost him the fight. In boxing, you are only as good as your last fight and with such a monumental win, we expect Joyce to continue building on his momentum as he faces the Frenchman on July 24th.
Joe Joyce’s record speaks for itself, having 11 wins coming by way of knockout, effectively giving the British heavyweight a 91.6% KO record. Frank Warren, Joyce’s promoter, is preparing his fighter for the next frontier - the winner between Oleksandr Usyk and Anthony Joshua. But boxing betting fans are not so sure whether Joyce is ready to put everything on the table and Carlos Takam is definitely not the right opponent in preparation for world title fights.
We expect Joyce to be fighting on the front foot against Takam and if he uses his jab as effectively and accurately as he did against Dubois, Takam won’t have much of an option but to go looking for the knockout. Carlos Takam’s last three bouts ended in a unanimous decision and his last TKO came back in 2018. Boxing betting fans are unsure of whether Takam can knock Joyce out, but we’ve seen Joyce vulnerable a couple of times against Daniel Dubois and we’re keen to find out how the British boxer will react to a flurry of blows.

As mentioned briefly above, the odds for Joyce emerging victorious are too low to even consider. With odds of -1000, you’ll need to bet $1000 to make a $100 profit and while this should be a definite win for the Brit, you cannot underestimate Carlos Takam.
Odds to back Takam to win the fight are very tempting, set at +600 and it’s not a bad idea to wager a small amount, just in case the Frenchman upsets the boxing world. We’ve seen it happen before, with the most recent being Andy Ruiz knocking out AJ. Don’t rule out Takam to be disqualified. Keep in mind that Joyce is not used to going the distance. Final Thoughts
Joe Joyce is pretty surprised that Takam even took the fight, considering that he rejected the sparring partner invitation. There’s no doubt that Joyce is the clear favorite but we expect Takam to be problematic for the British fighter.
We expect Joyce to fight on the front foot, exert relentless pressure with his powerful jab and end the show before the first half of the fight. But this is heavyweight boxing and one punch can change the course of the bout and cause mayhem across the boxing world.
